Bourke Home & Country

Making a home in Australia represents for many one of life’s ultimate achievements, laying roots and settling down is a common sentiment.  It has always seemed to me that the core of this idea was born in what we commonly refer to as ‘the outback’, that hard country which refuses to be governed, and there at the heart of this hard land stands the home.

Bourke Home & Country looks not only at our classical idea of home but also takes into view the indigenous idea of going home to country.  It seeks to examine the more intangible qualities of what home is and its connection to the land.
